Student License
The Student License offers a 50% discount on all our fonts, offered for individual students who want to work on personal, commercial, or public projects, or sell products and/or merchandise.
This license is valid for one person and allows them to install the purchased font files on all their workstations and use them for an unlimited number of projects during their studies. By purchasing a Student License, you agree not to share the font files with others, and each student must have their own license if working on a group project.
Upset GmbH is excited to support students and trusts that all licensees will use the purchased fonts honestly. Once you graduate, please ensure that you license fonts appropriately for future projects.
1.0 Preamble This End User License Agreement (EULA) is a contract between the licensee (“you,” customer, and/or license owner) and the supplier (Upset GmbH) for the purchased fonts. It legally binds both parties to the terms and conditions outlined here.
By purchasing, downloading, installing, and/or using fonts from Upset GmbH, you acknowledge that you’ve read and accepted the terms of this agreement. If you disagree with any of the terms and conditions, please refrain from purchasing, downloading, installing, or using the fonts.
2.0 Definitions
2.1 Licensee
The license owner is the end user who creates or uses the output generated with the purchased font files. The customer is the person purchasing the font files on behalf of themselves or a third party. Sometimes, the customer and license owner are the same entity.
2.2 Supplier Upset GmbH is the font foundry based in Switzerland.
2.3 Typefaces and Fonts A typeface is the visual design that includes a set of glyphs (letters, numbers, symbols, punctuation) sharing a common style. A font is a specific style of that typeface, designed for a particular use case and medium.
2.4 Copyright and Right of Use
A digital font is essentially software and is licensed as such. When you purchase a font license, you’re granted the right to use the font under the terms of this EULA. You do not own the font, as Upset GmbH retains full copyright. Any rights not explicitly granted are reserved by Upset GmbH.
3.0 General Terms
Upon full payment, Upset GmbH grants the licensee a non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sub-licensable right to use the purchased font files as specified in the license, under the terms of this EULA.
Important: All terms in section {3.0 General Terms} apply to every individual license.
3.1 Refunds
All sales are final. Once purchased from upset.ch, fonts are non-returnable and non-refundable. If there are any technical issues with the font files, Upset GmbH will review and replace them, if necessary, within 14 days after the purchase.
3.2 Updates
Licenses should be checked at least once a year to ensure they’re up to date. If there are significant changes over time, you’ll need to purchase the difference. In case of doubts, Upset GmbH reserves the right to contact the license owner for current data.
3.3 Limitations
You are not allowed to sublicense, sell, lend, or lease the font software, or modify it in any way, including:
Opening the original font files in editing software to reveal its design, structure, or code.
Creating a modified version, including adding new characters or altering existing ones.
Subsetting the character set to reduce file size is allowed.
Any use of the fonts to promote violence, discrimination, or in political/religious contexts requires prior approval from Upset GmbH.
3.4 Customisation
Custom versions of fonts, additional glyphs, or modifications to individual glyphs can be created upon request.
3.5 Warranty
Fonts are used with third-party devices/software and can behave differently depending on the context. While Upset GmbH tests fonts thoroughly, we cannot guarantee the exact performance or results you may experience.
If you're happy with your purchased fonts, please feel free to credit Upset GmbH in your project’s imprint or colophon.
That's all. Thanks for your support. Upset GmbH © 2023
